David Bolton Strikes Again

The inaugural Sydney Spring Users Group had a very special guest speaker, Mr Spring himself, ex-sydneysider Rod Johnson. The response the group received was apparently overwhelming, it was standing room only with well over two hundred guests by my best estimate, when originally they’d expected only thirty or so.

Rod was suffering from a cold, but that didn’t stop him for talking for over two hours. He was certainly knowledgeable and passionate, but unfortunately his presentation was really at an introductory level, whereas almost everyone there had reasonably extensive Spring experience — he was preaching to the choir. Anyway, I applaud the initiative shown in setting up the group and getting someone as eminent as Rod back to Sydney, bravo. As more of my work is going to involve Spring from here on in, I can see myself visiting the user group quite often.
